For the Good (FTG) is committed to operating at the highest standards of accountability, ethics and transparency. We share information on how we operate to reflect our commitment to steward our programs with the highest integrity. We are transparent with our financials to secure trust from our donors, partners, volunteers and staff that we work to use all donated dollars in the smartest, most effective and efficient way possible. The following details reflect our commitment to donors, volunteers and the people we serve.

 

Internal and External Oversight

For the Good has a Board of Directors in both Kenya and the USA. The USA Board of Directors are trustees that ensure that we adhere to and have the necessary resources to advance our mission into the future through sound and ethical governance and financial management practices. The Kenyan Board of Directors oversees the programmatic funds and acts as an advisory board to the USA Board of Directors and staff. They are a critical link to ensure that the interests and perspectives of the communities we serve are at the foundation of what we do.


Organizational & Financial Information

Transparency: We have achieved a Platinum Level Seal of Transparency from GuideStar/Candid and are a Top-Ranked Organization at Global Giving. These ratings reflect our commitment to financial and programmatic transparency, including publicly accessible explanations of the strategies, capabilities, indicators, and progress we use to achieve our mission.

Tax Exempt: We are recognized by the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a tax-exempt organization. Our IRS Determination Letter confirms this information. Volunteer Governance: Our Board of Directors provides internal oversight to the organization.

Staff: Our key employees strive to serve the communities we work with at the highest levels of respect and integrity while working to achieve our mission.

Our Code of Ethics, Conflicts of Interest , Child Welfare policies and practices ensures ethical behavior among our board of directors, staff and volunteers. It is important that our own organization create and support opportunities for women and ensures that their voices, knowledge and perspectives inform and direct our work in substantive ways. Our Non-Discrimination and Diversity & Gender Inclusion statements reflects this commitment.

IRS Verified: Our IRS Form 990 confirms the annual tax filing information we are required to maintain the tax exempt designation.

Stewardship Publicly Reported: Our Annual Reports provide details on our accomplishments and the impact we make with your support.

Privacy Respected: For the Good honors the rights and privacy of our donors. We do not sell, share or trade donors’ personal information to any other entity. Donors are recognized in the organization’s annual report to the community. Donors wishing to remain anonymous should notify us of this at the time a gift is made. Our Donor Privacy Policy is available for more details. For the Good subscribes to the Donor Bill of Rights developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).
