FOR THE GOOD IN THE NEWS:
For the Good exists because we want to see a better, more equitable world for girls all over the world. Founded by Kayce Anderson in 2014, we are an international non-profit organization based in Glenwood Springs and Entasekera, Kenya that partners with rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa to remove the barriers that keep girls from school. The deep dedication of our staff (two in the U.S. and five in Kenya) and 15 interns, along with the teachers, chiefs, mothers, fathers, and and other partners we work with in Kenya , are the heart of our work. APRIL 2023: FOR THE GOOD CHOSEN AS A CLASSY AWARD FINALIST!
In April we were chosen as one of 50 finalists for the 2023 Classy Awards. The Classy Awards shine a spotlight on the innovative work that organizations of all sizes are doing around the world to create a lasting impact for good. We’re incredibly honored to be chosen as a finalist among some of our own nonprofit heroes, including Days for Girls, The Fistula Foundation, and Solar Sister. MOUNTAIN WOMEN MAGAZINE: TRAILBREAKERS
Our Executive Director, Kayce Anderson, was chosen for the second time as one of five women trailblazer’s who’ve sparked powerful change in Colorado’s mountain communities. The article highlights our program updates since 2019, when we began working in Kenya’s Loita Hills, and Kayce’s recent honor (October, 2022) as one of two 2022 recipients of the University of Colorado’s prestigious George Norlin award.

OCTOBER 2022:
CU BOULDER GEORGE NORLIN AWARD
In 2022, our director, Kayce Anderson, PhD, was one of two recipients of the University of Colorado’s prestigious George Norlin Award. Among the small group to receive the Norlin award since its inception in 1930 are a Mercury Seven Astronaut, a former Supreme Court justice, a 10-time Grammy winning jazz musician, and a beloved, pioneering Everest climber and physician. Kayce was selected to be part of this select group for her previous ecological research and her work founding For the Good. You can read CU’s profile of her on their alumni awards website.

For the Good was featured as APR’s Non-Profit in the Spotlight for four weeks in September, 2018. In four different episodes, Executive Director Kayce Anderson and Board Member Shelly Sheppick share the organization’s approach, mission and stories from Kenya, and twelve-year-old Ella Lindenberg shares why she’s raised thousands of dollars for For the Good.
