Mausa is situated in a remote region just above the Tanzanian border. Mausa Primary was one of the original locations we reached out to in Loita to learn more about the needs of local girls and schools. The village is only accessible via a rough track accessible only by walking, motorbike or a landcruiser.

In 2020 reconnected twenty eighth grade students from Mausa Primary to their lessons during Kenya’s extensive school closures in 2020. In 2022, we are partnering with Mausa to open a day secondary school to serve students in this remote region. Mausa lost much of its primary school to a fire several years ago and has slowly been rebuilding; currently the school is still short two classrooms and one grade meets alternately in a church or under a tree. Because of this lack of infrastructure, we will be fundraising with Mausa to build two new primary classrooms as well as the required classrooms to open a day secondary school in 2022.
